Beth Prokaska
Beth Prokaska is a retired teacher, a mother, and a community advocate. As an educator she has spent the last 25 years teaching music and supporting families across the Ottawa–Carleton District School Board. She knows the people of Carleton well.
Beth is a natural advocate for the people she serves. Throughout her career, she has helped countless students, parents and guardians access food, housing and health services.
Today, she mentors new teachers in Ottawa schools, while fighting to support community groups outside the classroom by organizing fundraisers for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and groups like Christie Lake Kids.
Beth will stand up for Carleton. As an NDP candidate, Beth will fight to defend jobs and public services and, at the same time, protect the people in Carleton from Pierre Poilievre and Conservative cuts to supports that workers and families rely on.
In her spare time, Beth is an avid boxer, hiker, and composer and she plays the standup bass. She climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2023.
